Archiving Policy

Proceedings of the Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences (PNSPS) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of scholarly content published in our conference proceedings. To achieve this goal, we have established a robust archiving policy in collaboration with the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN).

PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

PNSPS partners with the PKP PN to provide electronic backup and preservation access to the content of our conference proceedings. The PKP PN offers reliable preservation infrastructure and services designed to safeguard the integrity and accessibility of scholarly works over time.

LOCKSS Software

The PKP PN utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) software to ensure seamless perpetual access, distributed and decentralized preservation, and preservation of the content's true original version. This approach enhances the resilience of our preservation efforts and mitigates the risk of content loss or degradation.

Long-Term Access

The PKP PN plays a crucial role in preserving journals that may not be included in other digital preservation services such as CLOCKSS or Portico. By leveraging the PKP PN, PNSPS ensures that our conference proceedings are archived for long-term access, contributing to the continuity of scholarly communication and research dissemination.

High-Level Overview

For further information on the PKP PN and its preservation services, we encourage interested parties to refer to the high-level overview document provided by PKP. This document offers insights into the preservation strategies and technologies employed by the PKP PN to safeguard scholarly content.

Through our partnership with the PKP PN, PNSPS reaffirms its commitment to preserving the intellectual contributions of our authors and facilitating enduring access to valuable research outcomes.
